Story Time

This week, I shut a kitten in our dishwasher.

Don't worry I didn't run the dishwasher!

And I didn't mean to lock him in there.

I had just finished loading the dishwasher. I pushed the bottom rack most of the way in, lifted the door shut and the rack rolled in the rest of the way.

As I pushed the door fully closed and stepped away, I heard an odd strangled mewling sound. I quickly realized it was coming from INSIDE the dishwasher! I flung open the door and slid out the bottom rack; very confused.

There was our kitten, Waffle.

He slowly maneuvered his way over the pots and pans and sauntered away with his tail straight up in the air.

And no, we don't have house pets. This is a barn cat. A barn cat that wants to be a house cat and loves people.

He will magically slip inside the house unnoticed at any time of day.

Sometimes I step on him while I'm making supper.

Sometimes I find a cat on my bed.

Sometimes I hear yowling and can't quite determine where it's coming from. Yesterday, I unintentionally locked him in the pantry. I remember this happening to our cat once when I was a kid, and she ate an entire bag of marsh mellows.

At least he's cute.

A Day in the Life of Malachi Wasyliw

I got up at 9am and went to let Ranger, our dog, out of his kennel. I had a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast and then I started my school. First Math for 30min, after that I worked on ELA. At 12pm, we all gathered for lunch. After lunch I did my chores, which are clearing the table. While Tobias had a nap, my brothers and I went outside and built a teepee with tall sticks and surrounded it with ice blocks. At 330pm, we all drove to our skating lessons. Myles and I are first, then at 5pm is Gabriel and Joha. Skating lessons are hard because we are working on backward crossovers. There is no sitting around! After my skating class, Myles and I went to the restaurant down the street to go have supper with a friend and his family. After skating, we drove home and hung out with dad, then went to bed. All in all, it was a great day.
